February Week 3: Easy Review Activities

Hola Teachers!

Below are some engaging activities to help you review the digital lesson with Your students. These review exercises are optional, so select the ones that suit you and your little geniuses best. But if you're short on time, don't fret! Simply showing your students some of the digital lesson will still make you the Spanish master!

You will practice:

1.  Jobs: 2:17

 1. Jobs and Sound Effects: 10 Minutes

Supplies Needed: Download and print one set of the job pictures

The jobs your students are about to learn are everywhere! From the friendly mail carrier delivering letters to the cashier scanning snacks, they’ll recognize these professions in their daily lives—and now they’ll know how to say them in Spanish! The English, Spanish and Pronunciation Key is below. Remember to read the pronunciaiton key like English.

Start by showing the six job pictures you printed. Can they guess the jobs in English? Then, it’s time for some Spanish fun! Play the Spanish Jobs audio file, hold up each picture, and have everyone repeat the words in Spanish—nice and loud! Want to make it even more interactive? Let students take turns holding the job pictures as they hear them in the audio. Get ready to bring these words to life! 🎉

Spanish in February (Jobs)OLA
00:00 / 07:15

After diving into the Jobs and Sound Effects segment of the digital lesson for February Week 3, quickly brush up on these two phrases to prep for the upcoming song:
"El hombre es..." (El ohm-bdeh ace...) "The man is..."
"La mujer es..." (Lah moo-herd ace...) "The woman is..."

Next, show the pictures of the jobs to your eager learners and play the audio entitled, "The Man Is a Mail Carrier." Have a blast chanting the job names and mimicking the sound effects. Challenge your students to join in the fun and attempt the sound effects with you. Watch them giggle as they try to keep up with the audio and the catchy sounds.

 2. Charades: 10 Minutes

As a class think of ways you can act out each job. The kids may come up with clever ways, so listen to their ideas. Once you agree on how to act them out, practice acting them out together while chanting the words. You may want to have everyone stand up so you can use your whole body when act=ng them out. Have the class sit down. Next, have individual students take turns picking a job picture but not letting anyone else see it. They get to act out the job they picked and the class has to guess the job in Spanish.

A Fun Twist: Tape a job picture to the back of one student but don't let that student see the picture, however, have the student turn around so their classmates can see the picture. Pick one or more students or the entire class to act out the  job. The student with the picture taped to their back has to guess which job it is. When they guess it correctly, take the picture off of their back
