NOVEMBER-week 1

NOVEMBER week 1: EASY breezy Review

Now it’s Your Time to Shine!
Get ready to teach fun, easy review activities to reinforce Spanish from the digital lesson. No Spanish? No problem! You and your students will pick up new words quickly. Try one or both of these activities—let the adventure begin!

1. classroom rules in spanish-make it fun!  (10 minutes)

We all know how important it is for students to understand the classroom rules from day one, and the same goes for Spanish class! To help you learn the six simple rules, download the **Rules Cheat Sheet** and play the audio file until you're comfortable pronouncing them.

Getting Your Classroom Ready:
1. Print the Rules Poster: Download and print several copies to display around your classroom and school as a visual reminder.
2. Practice with Your Students: Play the audio file to review the rules as a class. Make it fun by acting out the rules with your body while saying them in Spanish. Encourage your students to join in!

Make it Fun:
Try this fun activity: tell your students you'll pretend to be a baby who forgets the rules. For example, if you want them to practice "Silencio" (be quiet), start making baby noises. The class should shout, “Silencio!” and you'll stop, responding in a baby voice, "Thank you for reminding me to be quiet—I forgot, I'm just a baby!" (Pretending to suck your thumb after saying this will have them laughing!)

My students love this game and beg me to play it every day!

Before long, you and your students will know the rules in Spanish just as well as you do in English. You might even switch to using Spanish for all classroom rules—how awesome would that be?

2. Spread Kindness in Spanish—It’s Super Easy! (10 minutes)

Building a positive classroom environment is a top priority for all teachers—and you can do this in your Spanish class too! To help you learn three simple compliments, download the **Compliments Cheat Sheet** and play the audio file until you're comfortable pronouncing them.

Getting Your Classroom Ready:
1. Print the Compliments Poster: Download and print a few copies to hang around your classroom and school as cheerful reminders to give compliments in Spanish every day.

2. Practice with Your Students: Play the audio file, sing along, and have fun practicing the compliment words together. Before you know it, you and your students will be giving compliments in Spanish with ease—how awesome is that?

Make it Fun:
Sometimes, I ask individual students which of the three compliments they want the class to say to them. They may blush, but they’re excited to choose! Then, the whole class sings the compliment to that student, and you can see them beam with pride!

Bring the Fun with a Spanish "Bonus Jar"!

Get your students excited to use more Spanish with a simple, fun reward system! Set up a Spanish Bonus Jar in your classroom. Each time a student says a rule or gives a compliment in Spanish, add a marble or cotton ball to the jar.

Once the jar is full, celebrate their awesome behavior and growing Spanish skills with a special treat—whether it’s a classroom party, a movie with popcorn, extra outdoor time, or let your students vote on their own reward! It’s a fun and easy way to boost excitement for learning and encourage everyone to speak more Spanish.

 Share Your Wins!

Every time we get your WINS  AND SUCCESSES in our inbox, we can’t help but do a little happy dance — to "Don't Stop Believing" or "La Bamba" of course! Why? Because success doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Your wins are our wins, and they’re proof for others that when you do the work, you get results.

Whether your students are finally beginning to repeat or sing in Spanish along with the online videos,  or say random words in Spanish throughout the day, or teachers are feeling more confident carrying out the follow-up activities, or parents are sharing that their child is saying words in Spanish at home — we want to hear your wins BIG and small!

Celebrating you always,
Theresa & Team HOLA
